First off, yes it did steal the spotlight. I'm talking about the alleged smackdown between Chris Brown and Rihanna that resulted in an arrest and both artists cancelling their appearances on the Grammy's. WOW. Hope both will be OK.
As many predicted, Coldplay and Robert Plant/Alison Krauss won most of the awards.
I was happy to see John Mayer and Kings of Leon win.
I'm bummed that Alicia Keys' As I Am album wasn't up for more awards.
Best performances of the night - Jennifer Hudson and Radiohead (coool drums!)
By the way, I didn't know how to take Gweneth Paltrow's intro of Radiohead - isn't that like sleeping with the enemy? Cool disco ball dress though.
It was cool to see Dave Grohl in a muppet-like state playing drums behind Sir Paul McCartney. Throwback to Nirvana!
Was Whitney Houston a little....off?
U2's new song is pretty good - hard U2, not softy U2.
M.I.A. performing on her due date?!?!?! I was waiting for her water to break mid-performance!
The M.I.A./Kanye/Jay-Z/T.I./Lil' Wayne performance would have been great if I was able to understand one word that came out of their mouths.
Katy Perry's performance was um, sparkly, but ehh.
Please don't ever pair up Stevie Wonder and the Jonas Bros again. EVER. It was painful.
BFF's Taylor Swift and Miley Cirus actually wasn't bad.
B.B. King/John Mayer/etc guitar fest was pretty cool.
And as usual, I feel asleep right before they announced album of the year. As if it was a shocker???
In all, a decent grammy show, but previous years did have it beat. Here's to next year!
