I AM IRON MAN

Wow... do I love this movie!!! It will definitely be an addition to our Blu-Ray collection - awesome audio and video! I was going to pick up the soundtrack, but I was bummed to find that the main theme song (Black Sabbath's Iron Man - instrumental or vocal) wasn't on there. Neither was Back in Black. Basically none of the cool songs that were featured in the trailer are not on the soundtrack. Wah. But I guess the full length albums wouldn't hurt if they were in my collection.

Anyway, this movie is a MUST WATCH! Robert Downey Jr. is simply awesome. Here's the trailer. The part that made me see the movie starts at 2:10. BAD ASS!!!!

Merry Christmas to Me!

Well, to us! Hubby and I got a big screen HDTV and Blu-Ray player for our Christmas/Wedding gift to each other. AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Our first pic for the player? Queen in Montreal. Freddy Mercury is alive and Well! Holy cow does thing thing look at sound great. I got all sentimental thinking that now the great musicians we new and loved in the past are now living on forever thanks to this awesome technology. I'm telling you, I got all choked up!!! It looks "crazy live" and the sound is so beefed up! Basically kitty-moto cannot be in the same room when we have something on, because the subwoofer makes her jump and get all nutty. Poor little kitty.

The Shuffle Challenge: COMPLETED!!!!!

Wow. I did it! 2928 songs without breaking the shuffle! My life is complete. Some things I learned during this shuffle challenge:

1. Man cannot live on shuffle alone. It was crazy tough not breaking the shuffle. I mean grueling. The shuffle function was meant for ADDers in need of clues on what to listen to next. That's its sole purpose in life! I did not listen to every song in its entirely, otherwise I would truly go nuts. Plus, if it doesn't fit the mood, it just doesn't fit the mood - gotta forward to the next.
2. Some songs were not meant to be shuffled. Going from Mozart, to Nine Inch Nails, to Britney, to Stevie Wonder and back again does not a good mix make.
3. Some songs were not meant to be shuffled TWICE. Yup, got the album version, single version and hotmix version. Need to organize my library!
4. I'm missing good music! Where's my Sublime CD...or Velvet Revolver...I swear I had Billy Idol on here.
5. Why the hell is THAT on there? There are really some albums that no longer deserve to be on my beloved wheel o cheese. I don't mean cheesy classics. I mean the freebie CDs loaded to fatten up the WOC really stuck out during this experiment. And they annoyed me each and every time.
6. I live my life in HIGH FIDELITY. Just like the movie, most songs provided a crystal clear flashback into the olden days....sitting in my room putting the Hysteria cassette into my stereo and wondering what the song "Pour Some Sugar On Me" was all about as I read every word of the cassette jacket, clubbin' to 100% Pure Love in AC at 3am with my BFF wearing my brandy new clubbing outfit, dancing around in my room with my Mom to Working My Way Back To You, coming home from school and sitting on the huge stereo console tapping my patent leather shoes against the speakers to Lay Down Sally, hearing 100 Years played on the piano by my then first date who later became my hubby, etc, etc, etc.
7. Wow, I have that song? There were songs I've completely forgotten about - Mother, by The Police was one that totally caught me off guard. Love that song! It was nice to discover some songs all over again.
8. Time to get current. The 80's were awesome - and that's very apparent on my beloved WOC, but its time to put some fresh tunes in there: The Toxic Airbone Event, Kings of Leon, and new Weezer will be making there way onto my beloved wheel o cheese soon.
9. I love you even more, Wheel O Cheese! I have an even greater appreciation for the wheel o cheese, being at the ready whenever the moment strikes to get me in a good mood (Sexy Back) or vent my frustrations (Starf*****) or chill me out (Requiem). Its my go to for everything, and I can't go a day without it.
10. I will never...ever do this again.

The Shuffle Challenge: #2165

KICKSTART MY HEART - by Motley Crue

This song is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo good! Gets you going....anywhere....anytime: driving into work on Monday morning, getting ready for a kickass workout, getting up off the couch.....etc.

Its also very cool how creative you can get writing a song after you're declared dead, Nikki Sixx.

The Shuffle Challenge: #2141

Oh yeah....now the real gems are coming out of the woodwork!

The Rain - by Orange Juice Jones

"I saw you...and him...walking in the raaaaaiiin" But its not about that part. Its the rap. I grabbed the lyrics from leoslyrics.com. It's a masterpiece!!

Hey hey baby how ya doin' come on in here
Got some hot chocolate on the stove waiting for you
Listen first things first let me hang up the coat
Yeah how was your day today
Did you miss me
You did? Yeah? I missed you too
I missed you so much I followed you today
That's right now close your mouth
'Cause you cold busted
Now just sit down here, sit down here
I'm so upset with you I don't know what to do
You know my first impulse was to run up on you
And do a Rambo
I was about to jam you and flat blast both of you
But I didn't wanna mess up this thirt-seven hundred dollar lynx coat
So instead I chilled -- That's right chilled
I called up the bank and took out every dime.
Than I cancelled all your credit cards...
I stuck you up for every piece of jewelery I ever bought you!
Don't go lookin' in that closet 'cause everything you came here with is
packed up and waiting for you in the guest room. What were you
thinking?
You don't mess with the Juice!
I gave you silk suits, blue diamonds and gucci handbags.
I gave you things you couldn't even pronounce!
But now I can't give you nothing but advice.
Cause you're still young, yeah, you're young.
And you're gonna find somebody like me one of these days . . .
Until then, you know what you gotta do?
You gotta get on outta here with that alley-cat-coat-wearing,
punch-bucket-shoe-wearing crumbcake I saw you with. Cause you
dismissed!
That's right, Silly rabbit, tricks are made for kids, don't you know
that. You without me is like corn flakes without the milk! This is my
world. You're just a squirrel trying to get a nut! Now get on outta
here. Scat!
Don't touch that coat...

Actually, I think it was "hush puppy shoe wearin" but that's just me and my messed up ears.

The Shuffle Challenge: #2126

Wild Boys! A Duran Duran classic! You can picture the video, can't ya? As the story goes Simon was accidentally held under water for a period of time because that big wheel he was attached to broke down!

I thought I'd check in and see what the boys are up to. Looks like they're finishing up a tour for their '07 album: Red Carpet Massacre. That's the one with the song "Falling Down", which I think was produced by Justin Timberlake. Anyway, looks like the last leg of the tour isn't going so well. They had to cancel the first 3 shows due to keyboardist Nick Rhodes' ear infection. Awww.....

I really wanted it to happen for her...

Oh well....a lukewarm comeback is what it looks like. I was all psyched for the Britney documentary, GMA performance and album release. I was really rooting for her. But all I got after experiencing all three was...oohhhh, um, it was OK. The documentary didn't have any big reveal. It just looks like someone is working her puppet strings again, and she just looks lost, poor thing. It was very believable when she uttered "I'm sad." I would hate to have her life.

OK, onto the GMA performance. Um...guess it was a smidge tidier than the disasterous VMAs. Her dancing wasn't really there - and that's all she has to offer becuase she 100% lip-synchs. Wah. I was really really hoping for something big.

Finally, her new album, Circus. I really liked Blackout. When I heard Womanizer, I thought it was a missing single from that album. As I listened to this album (via AOL free listen) I don't think any of the songs popped out. Even Womanizer is annoying but play it 100 times and you'll be humming it. I wanted a guilty pleasure album! Eh, maybe I'll download it anyway for some white noise while working out.

So, overall I'm bummed. I was really pulling for ya Brit. I was looking forward to some cheesetastic entertainment and a new addition to the beloved wheel o cheese, but this isn't cutting it.
