OK, after some encouragement, I went to my first Rick Springfield concert....last Friday. A little late, huh? Ya can't blame me, for I was not a General Hospital fan way back when. After school TV was reserved for Spider-Man cartoons. But sure, I'd love me some Jesse's Girl or Don't Talk to Strangers action. So I went to The State Theatre in New Brunswick, NJ with no expectations, just to maybe see an old timer give it a go.
Well, was I pleasantly surprised! After passing by a small crowd of 50 yr old groupies talking to security to try to get backstage after the show, I made my way to my balcony seat, next to some more die hard fans all giddy with excitement. Now don't get me wrong, I still act like a 12 yr old at a Def Leppard concert, so I can appreciate their demeanor. It was just fun seeing it from the other side. Anyway the house lights shut off, the music comes on and there's Rick, rocking out with his bad self! I instantly became a fan after three minutes into the show where he stopped and said "Thank you - if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be doing this today." How awesome is that?! A humble Rick. And it just continued thru the show - he was having a blast and he made sure we did as well. He was able to laugh at himself and make us laugh and we loved him more and more for it. And he sounded GREAT!!! And he did this trick by playing the guitar with a dozen roses, which exploded onto the stage - ya had to be there. Very cool. Rockstar Moto approves!
Here's a snippet from youtube, thanks to "1yestor". Rock on, Rick Springfield! Rock on!

T.G.I.V.H.1.C.D
Thank God It's VH1 Classic Day!
Oodles and oodles of fun! Pat Benetar, Guns N Roses, Motley Crue, Greatest Metal Moments, Neil Young. Oh and I saw Rock and Roll High School for the first time. Hmm...gotta brush up on the Ramones.
...trying to remember if they had the Pop Show or We Are the 80's....ugh, no short term memory. Yes, I'm stuck in the 80's. No, I don't have high hair.

Just warming up here...
While Rockstar Moto is getting used to the blogging community, Rockstar Moto will give you little nuggets here and there until a format suitable to Rockstar Moto is found. That's right, Rockstar Moto speaks in the third person. Nah, just kidding. Now THAT would be annoying.
Rockstar Moto is a ROCKSTAR. Everybody in one way or another is a rockstar. Moto is, well, Hello, Moto. It's frequently used to describe my things such as my pet, Kitty Moto, my car, Auto Moto, or my endearing Wheel o Cheese, iPod Moto. I'll spin that from time to time and bring you back to, more than likely, the 80's Hair Band era or Old Skool Rap (Bust a Moove, anyone?). You'll also get tidbits o trivia, Rockstar Moto's album or song reviews, and a little music education as I study it and find some cool stuff. Now, I don't think we'll go as far back as the Baroque Period, but there will definitely be some branching out into unknown territory, such as Jazz Legends, Electronica Superstars and maybe, just maybe, some Country. Can't guarantee it though. You'll have to tune in to find out!
